Uganda Drivers All Set for The Mountain Gorilla Rally Kicking Off This Weekend in Rwanda

The fifth round of the African Rally Championship (ARC) famously known as the Mountain Gorilla Rally is set to kick off this weekend in Rwanda with the entry list dominated by Ugandan drivers. The drivers are prepared and ready to take on the challenge with ARC drivers Yasin Nasser, Jas Mangat, and Innocent Bwamiki battling it out with the other drivers from Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, and Rwanda.

Yasin Nasser, who is currently leading the ARC standings, will be looking to extend that lead as Jas Mangat will be debuting his Hyundai i20 on the African stage for the first time.

The event is set to cover a competitive distance of 195.76km and twelve stages and it is being hosted by Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC). Competitors will do a shakedown on Friday and then kick off the competition on Saturday.

Kenya’s Karan Patel will be looking for a good podium finish or win after taking top honors at the Rallye International du Burundi in August. Rio Smith will also be representing Kenya. Coming back for his second ARC event is Tanzania’s Prince Charles Nyerere whose first event was the rally in Burundi.
