This year 2021 has all crews raging with adrenaline after missing out on most of the events in 2020 canceled due to the Corona pandemic. This African Rally Championship round came early paving way for the June WRC safari. The eventful weekend started with a shakedown on Friday, then competitive sections Saturday and Sunday in the Naivasha Province. Carl “Flash” Tundo and co-driver Jessop Tim led the rally in their Volkswagen Polo, Rai Tejveer, Jas Mangat, and Davite Giancarlo followed in second, third, and fourth position respectively.
Although Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta was one of the fans present, the April 23-25 Naivasha-Nakuru Events was a Scientific one with limited fans as most followed on social media.
Uganda’s Jas Mangat and Joseph Kamya were the only foreign crew on the podium, however many crews competed, like Duncan Mubiru, Yasin Nasser, Kepher Walubi, Hassan Alwi, Ronald Ssebuguzi, Amaanraj Singh Rai, Rajiv Ruparelia from Uganda, and Rwanda’s Davite Giancarlo.
Now that these drivers have tested their machines for the event of the year. For both the teams and the fans WRC Kenya Safari Rally is the events all have geared up for.
