The National Rally Championship (NRC) ultimate round is happening this weekend from 24-26 November in Fort Portal, western Uganda. The Uganda Motor Club (UMC) is organizing this round to run thirteen stages in a total competitive distance of 148.84km. The event will also run a super special stage at Kyakaigo Sports Arena on Saturday, 25 November.
The 2023 championship was already secured by Moil’s Yasin Nasser back in August and seats on top of the standings table with 498 points. Nasser won four rounds this season; NRC one in Mbarara back in February, round three in Hoima in June, round four in Jinja in July, and the fifth round in Masaka in August. Nasser also secured the Tanzania National Rally Championship earlier this month, making him the first Ugandan driver to achieve this feat.
Making his comeback will be John Consta debuting his Ford Fiesta Proto, fans will be treated to a spectacular performance on the super special stage with these drivers going up against each other.
It will be interesting to see the drivers battle for different wins in the remaining categories; the CRC, 2WD category, Division One, and Two titles. Ibrahim Lubega is leading the 2WD category with 134 points, Joshua Muwanguzi is leading the CRC class with 112.5 points, Peter Kalule is leading the Division One class with 70 points, and Julius Semambo leads the Division Two with 60 points. The winners/champions of all categories will be known at the end of the event.
