The fourth round of the National Autocross challenge was held on Sunday, 17 September at Zion Estate-Sissa/Kagga. This round was won by Jonas Kansiime and co-driver Ronald Bukenya in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8, they did a time of 0:12:56:95. The team won the first stage doing 0:06:26:84 and were second in the second stage with a time of 0:06:30:11. This gives the team a fighting chance for the Autocross championship as they move up in standings.
Joshua Muwanguzi and co-driver Mariam Nambasa came in second in their Subaru Impreza N 12B with a time of 0:13:35:54. They had a time difference of 0:00:38:59 from Kansiime/Bukenya. Muwanguzi was second in stage one and third in stage two.
In third place was Kevin Bebeto and co-driver Siraje Kyambadde in their Toyota Run X with a time of 0:13:47:85; they came in third in the first section and won the second stage. This was an impressive finish for Bebeto who also won the junior division.
This event was also the third round of the National Enduro championship. From an overall classification, Scott Nicholson came out on top of everyone else after completing sixteen laps on his KTM; this was his first event. He seats fifth overall in the championship standings with twenty points. In the class two category, he is fourth.
Ron Young dominated the J2 class being the only one in this class to do sixteen laps on his KTM 85 SX; he was also second overall. Young is also leading the J2 class with 37 points on the standings. Jason Burrows came in second after finishing twelve laps on his Husqvarna TC 85 and the only female in the class, Shamillah Kateete placed third after ten laps on her Kawasaki KX 85. Miya Young, Ron Young’s sister, closed out the class in fourth.
In the J1 class, Jonathan Katende pulled no punches leading the class after twenty-two laps on his Kawasaki KX 65. The youngster keeps getting better by day and he is now tied with his brother Miguel Katende both in first place on the championship standings with thirty-five points. Miguel came in third place on his Husqvarna TC 65 behind Jerome Mubiru. Larry Ssekamwa was fourth, Keith Deedan Aine fifth and Talha Kateete closed out the class in sixth.
Ya-asin Semakula took first place in class 1 after fifteen laps, the only lady in the class, Sharifah Kateete came in second place and Leon Steyn finished third.
