The third round of the National Sprint Championship took place over the weekend (Sunday, September 3) at Festino City in Mukono. The event was won by Jas Mangat and long-term co-driver Joseph Kamya in their new Hyundai i20, the first of its kind in Uganda; they did a total time of 0:05:58:78. Fans came out in big numbers to get a glimpse of the i20 and Mangat/Kamya did not disappoint as fans cheered them throughout the event. It was their first time competing in a Sprint event this season as the team is competing on the African Rally Championship (ARC) calendar mainly but to get some mileage in the new, they brought it out at Festino before heading to Rwanda later this month.
