The riders under the Motorcycling Association of Uganda (MAU) closed their calendar by running their last event, challenge six on Sunday, 11 September 2022 at Busiika at the Extreme Adventure track.
The most exciting class to watch was the 125cc, where the current African champion in the 85cc, Gift Malcom Ssebuguzi Tabula gave his elders a run for their money riding as a guest in their class. Waleed Ali Omar took first place with 57points, putting on a show for the fans that came out to watch their favourites. Milton Obote Akaki came in second with 50 points as Gift Ssebuguzi scored 49points behind Akaki. In third place was Jjunju Lyvin with 39points, Wasswa Muhammad in fourth, and Ash Junior in fifth.
The MX 1 class saw the return of Asaf Nathan, who had an injury prior but has healed and doing better. He came in first place with 49points, Isma Mukiibi in second with 45points, and in third Ashim Sserwada with 41points. Alon Orland rode as a guest rider in this class at only 13years and scored 60points, leading from start to finish. In the MX 2 class, Mubiiru Julius came in first place with 54points, and fan favorite Fortune Ssentamu came in second place after suffering technical issues in the first heat leading to a DNF (Did Not Finish) but won the last two heats.
In the 85cc, Pascal Kasozi brilliantly won all three heats scoring 60points, Malcom Omoding came in second with 51points, Ron Young in third with 43points, and Marcus Bukenya finished fourth. Jason Burrows, son of John Burrows Lumu came in fifth, and Lubega Emmanuel in sixth. Liam Ntale rode in this class as a guest and scored 31points.
Larry Sekamwa won the 65cc class, he put on a good performance in the FIM MXOAN African championship where he placed third in the 50cc class. Ramathan Mubiru came in second place with 50points, he suffered a fall but didn’t get injured. Ashraf Mbabazi came in third, Maxwell Bukenya in fourth, Jassa Ethan in fifth, Isaac Mitima in sixth, Leonelle Ntale in seventh, and Baker Musoke in eighth.
In the Vets class, Barak Orland won with 57points, Semyalo John in second with 50points, Juncture George in third with 49points, and Ssajabi Muzamilu in fourth. The riders will next compete in the armed forces challenge in October.
