Round two of the motocross championship went off without a hitch at the Victoria Race Way Park-Garuga on Sunday. The Lato milk sponsored event was off to a great start, with Abigail Katende, holding the number one position in peewee. Nine points short and the first run-up was Faith Deedan Angel.
Filbert Muwonge led the MX 50 class by perfect scores in all three heats, giving him a total of 60. Ethan James Blick, Jamairah Makumbi, and Abdul Malik Wagaba in second, third, and fourth positions respectively as Jamairah Makumbi swept the MX 50 Ladies category.
Alestair Arthur Blick won MX1, and Sam Foreman second; and in the Veterans category, Christian Milletti aced all heats. Fatuh Kiggundu won MX2, Kylan Wekesa won MX125, and Jerome Mubiru was the star in the 85cc category.
Miguel Katende with outstanding performance, leading 65cc category, followed by his brother Jonathan in the second position. Mubarak Mayanja, Ally Kimera, and Keith Deedan Aine sealed the top five positions.
Zion Wekesa didn’t participate due to injuries nevertheless event was full action-packed heats like combining 65cc and 85cc, Miguel giving fellow riders a 30-second head start, and fans cheering all day.
All teams are now gearing up for the August FIM Africa Event.
